Grand Opening of Lucas Oil Stadium

We were allowed out on the football field so the kids and uncle Ben (the biggest kid) thought it appropriate that someone get tackled. The kids chose uncle Ben. He was very dramatic!

The Day Family at Peyton Manning's locker!!!!!

Number one Colts Fan Posing!

This place is HUGE! The kids loved it. We walked around and toured the whole place. We ate at one of the cafes. Going through the locker rooms and onto the filed was the highlight of our day. That may be a once in a lifetime opportunity! Can you tell we are Colts Fans??

Potty Trained!!!

So for three weeks now Kelsey has been wearing panties every day and some nights! we are still working on the night-time part of things. She is so proud of herself. She wants to tell us everytime she goes. We are so proud of our big girl! Kaleb has even started showing interest. IF Kelsey announces she is going to the potty, Kaleb has started to express that he too wants to go as well. Josh has taken responsibility for that because he wants him to stand up to go. I CANNOT teach him that! Whenever Josh is home for two or more days in a row he is working with him as much as he can. We know it'll still be awhile. If you ask him if he wants to use the potty he'll say "No, I'm good." We'll get there...eventually! :) In the meantime, Good job Kelsey!!! We are so proud of you big girl!!!

The State Fair has arrived!

We have already been to the State Fair twice in the last week and will be going two more times this week. We get in so cheap thanks to my dad who drives to Indy at 6am every year for the world's largest drive thru breakfast. They give you a delicious breakfast burrito (seriously they are SOOO good), coupons for the food tents, coupons for free milk at the dairy stand, and a free admission ticket all for only $3. An admission ticket itself at the gate is $8 per person so it's a great deal. Thanks dad! We love to go so often because we can break it up so we are not so worn out and because there are some awesome concerts on the free stage EVERY night. That's our favorite part. The kids now love it too because they are up dancing the whole time (or as Kelsey calls it they are "shakin their booties"). We take one day to take them around to see animals and then a concert. Another day we go to the Kiddie Park they have set up with pony rides, elephant rides, tiger shows, playgrounds, etc., midway rides, and then a concert. There is a day with all the informational and educational booths and a concert. Finally there is one evening that Josh and I go alone and this year that was the Carrie Underwood concert! We were celebrating our 1oth year of being together and 7 years of marriage! I feel so old when I say that but it seems like it has just flown by. Anyway I am sure you get the idea about the concert thing. Oh, and did I mention the fatty but ever so good fair food? Anyway, we all have so much and love going back each year. It is so fun to see it through the kids eyes. They notice so much more this year than they did last year and it has just made it that much more enjoyable!

Medical Update

Kelsey's testing came back normal. Hooray! We still have to wait for the Riley Neurologist to see her in November. At that time Kaleb will also be going to Riley for an opthamology appointment. His next neurosurgeon appointment is not until Deccember, but the doctor told us that there is a vision problem that frequently exists following the type of hydrocephaly that Kaleb has. For those of you who do not know about this or don't remember, Kaleb has a diagnosis of benign external hydrocephaly. This means he has extra fluid between the frontal lobe of his brain and his skull. We have had to be overly cautious and very diligent with his medical status these past two years. There were a couple times we thought he was going to have to have a shunt in his brain but thank GOD that never happened. Now the good news...his fluid levels were almost completely normal at his last neurosurgeon appointment! When he returns in December (assuming the eye testing goes alright) the neurosurgeon said there is a good chance he will be discharged of his diagnosis and of the doctor's care!!! ONLY GOD! We feel so blessed that God has continued to keep his hand on our children. Hopefully Kelsey will not have anymore of her episodes and all will be well.

Allstate 400 at the Brickyard

Every year we go with my dad and brother and our spouses to the race. We have the planning down to a science now. We park in the same place, walk the same path, go to the same events, sit in the same seats, pack the same food. All that planning and the real excitement is the race. This year was a bit of a bummer though. There was an issue with the new tires the drivers had to use. Every 12 laps they had to pit and get new tires or they would blow them out and wreck. It made for a LONG slow race with a slightly predictable ending. We still had a blast though. One of our favorite events there is the concert. This year is was Casey Jamerson, a Pendleton grad and new and upcoming artist. She sings country and is amazing! The couples pics were taken before her concert. Eventhough it always promises to be a long, hot day, we always manage to have a blast and cannot wait until next year!

Posing at the Park

Kaleb kissing mama! I love him so much!

Aren't my flower children gorgeous?!!!!

We could barely get him to stop running just to snap a picture. Such a boy!

LOVE! They are soooo sweet!

The three cutest kids in the world.

Fishing at Falls Park

Daddy fished with the kids at Falls Park in Pendleton today. They had a great time! They learned to bait the hook (with help of course), how to cast, and real in. They each caught a fish in no time! They were really biting that day. The twins thought it was cool until the fish came up out of the water. Then they wanted it back in there immediately. They thought the idea of touching it was "disgusting". (Kelsey's favorite word) Kylie however could not wait to get her hands on them! I still think daddy enjoyed himself the most!

Fun In the Sun

Our godson Kaiden was over to play in the whale pool with the kids today. They were out there for hours! Kylie had to pose for the camera of course! Kaleb and Kelsey were still cautious about getting too much water in their faces. We also had a sprinkler going, but the pool was the real hit! Kaiden would get at the top of the slide and just sit there. He then got upset because inevitably one of my kiddos would shove him down into the water.

Kylie Starts Piano Lessons

Kylie started her piano lessons with Miss Julie. She loves it and we do too! Can't wait for her first recital. More so we can't wait until she plays for great-grandpa. He gave me the piano we have at home and was the reason I took lessons as a child. He played for us all the time and was so excited to hear that now Kylie would be learning on that same piano. Julie says Kylie is very focused and advanced to be starting piano just as she turns 4. She is her youngest piano student yet!

Heart Testing

So I should begin by telling you that Kelsey has been randomly passing out on us. She becomes completely apneic and lifeless. She started this a year ago but they have been few and far between until recently. We had an EEG done a month ago that came back normal, yet the doctor is still thinking seizures. I personally think it could be something cardiac related because of how quickly she turns blue and loses consciousness, not to mention how long it takes to get her back. I finally convinced the pediatrician that this was not just behavioral and she was NOT holding her breath...several episodes and rescue breaths later (thank God we know CPR). She has a cardiac echo scheduled for today and we'll see where we go from there. The pediatrician also referred her to a neurologist at Riley but she doesn't go until November. Pray that we at least get some result from all this and maybe some piece of mind.
