What a Snowman!

Well the snow was not packing, but Kylie really wanted a snow man. It took her about 45 minutes but this is what she came up with. Notice it is sitting on a deck chair...

Mommy and Me

Kelsey and I decided to make chocolate chip cookies for the Super Bowl tomorrow. Despite having a full house of kids, we managed to have alone time and do this, just the two of us. As you can tell, she was very happy about it. Of course that may have a little to do with her being allowed to have cookie dough (thanks again for her love of that, TIA!).

14 inches of snow = Snow much fun!

14 inches fell in less than 24 hours. We live in Indiana so no one should be surprised. I'm only surprised it took this long! Snow angels and all, we had a blast playing in the snow for an hour. Schools were all cancelled and we took advantage. The kids had a hard time walking in the snow since it nearly came up to their waists so eventually they began to crawl in the snow. That was even more hilarious. The kids and I buried Josh in the snow. Kelsey was worried about him though. She thought he was "gonna drown". The twins made snow balls on their own for the first time. We wanted to use their sleds but there are not hills in our yard. We decided to be creative and sled off our deck. We created a slope off the steps and the kids had so much fun. Josh and I laughed our butts off!!! (Or maybe we froze our butts off...I can't remember now)

PrimeTime Music Recital

The twins had their first singing recital today. They sang every song (there was 3 of them) and did all the motions. When Kylie was their age, she stood up their and never sang a word or did a motion her first recital. I was so proud of them! They have watched her perform for two years now and couldn't wait to show off their stuff! Adorable!
Kylie had her first piano recital. It had one snaffu. Miss Julie forgot how Kylie song went. She was supposed to tell Kylie what note to start on when she got up there. (They only use this piano and set up for the recital so she hadn't practiced on it). Since she forgot, she just threw out another song Kylie knew and asked her to play that instead. I was confused and so proud of her at the same time. She played it without hesitation and kept her cool. Their next recital is in May and they are already looking forward to it!

The Murdocks Come to Visit

My aunt Carol, Uncle Bill, new cousin Naomi, and her husband Antonio came for a visit this week. They stayed with us and we were so glad to have them. We couldn't wait to see them and spend time with them. The kids had a blast with Uncle Bill (probably because he was just a big kid himself!). He crawled all over the floor and played with them and that made him the best in their book. The funniest thing was that when they first arrived (they are from Texas), Uncle Bill was wearing a cowboy hat. Kaleb was quick to point out that "He's a cowboy!" From that point onward it was Aunt Carol and the Cowboy. They called him cowboy all week! The first night here, the Cowboy came out after a shower and was wearing red plaid pajamas. My kids had red plaid pajamas from Christmas. They all went upstairs and, on their own, put on their red plaid pajamas so they could match the Cowboy! After that, they had Uncle Bill wrapped around their fingers! Naomi is Bill's daughter from a first marriage that he recently reunited with. This was our first time to meet her. It was also my aunt's brithday so we surprised he with a party their last night here. She was so surprised that she cried! We love you aunt Carol! It was a very fun week with them here. We cannot wait to go visit them in Houston.

90th Birthday

Grandpa with his 2 sons (L to R: Gerald (mydad), Grandpa, and Marvin)
Grandpa with all his grandchildren (L to R: Jennifer, Michael, Grandpa, Ben, and Melissa)

Ben and Amy with Grandpa

Great-Grandpa Eades turned 90 years old! Our family had a party for him and he enjoyed every minute. All the old friends and family that attended was a welcome sight for him. The kids were very excited to sing to him. They crawled all over him as usual at the party. He was loving it as he told every one that these were his great-grand babies. The church had a kids area called "Tiny Town" that kept the kids busy while the party went on. My Grandpa has a great memory and is know for all the sayings and stories he has memorized. He had learned a new one just for the party and told 2 others as well. It was a highlight for all of us.

Potty Training...Again!

So now that Christmas is over, we had planned ahead of time to potty train Kaleb. Tia and I actually both had the time off from our jobs so we decided to try to do this together with Kaleb and Kaiden. The first two days were rough for Kaleb, but he has started making great progress. He hasn't had many accidents and although we know this will be a process, I am encourage by how well he has done! We reward him with a small Reese's cup each time he goes on the potty and it has worked so far!

New Years Day

Hunter's First Cupcake!
Yummy Chocolate!

We got the kiddos together to play today. We read. played with Play-doh, made lots of messes, but we must not forget decorating and eating cupcakes. I made them and then passed them out with the icing and sprinkles to be decorated. The kids loved it! Kaiden was so meticulous about the placement of his sprinkles. My kids could care less as long as they got chocolate!! We decided to try it out with Hunter and he devoured his cupcake. This was a great preview for his birthday!
